We installed a drop ceiling in the Multi-Purpose Room of the Community Center. We pray that we can intall a small kitchen area soon. We are trying to raise funds to have the furnace put in at the computer lab/ library. We have to install two furnaces because of the brick wall the city won't let us breach lol. We had a workday this past Saturday. Volunteers from Deloite Accounting Firm with The Garden Resource Program came out and made 9 lasagna beds. They also put down some mulch and wood chips around the beds.

Okay. This is not the first time we harvested from the garden this year. I have been slipping big time on posting pictures. We picked 14 1/2 pounds of green beans ourselves (not including what neighbors have picked), 8 pounds of broccoli 8 zucchini, 10 cuccumbers, 6 pounds of carrots and to many tomatoes to count.

The Garden Resource Program's Compost Workgroup came out to turn our massive compost pile. Thanks to Meagen for setting this up. We got temperature readings of 160 degrees about three weeks ago and 140 degrees on monday.

Reading and Movie Night finally got started this year. We had a great turnout. 25 kids and 12 adults attended the reading of Encyclopedia Brown Cracks The Case and the movie was Night At The Museum(1). The kids were very interested as the book was very good. Rave reviews from the kids so maybe we will stay with stories like this.

Happy Easter to all! Thanks to all who came out to enjoy the Easter Egg Hunt and Brunch with the Easter Bunny today. About 25-30 children enjoyed the egg hunt, snatching up eggs strewn all over Cub's yard and in the Georgia St. Community Garden. After finding all of the eggs, everyone warmed up w/ MamaCub's fabulous hot chocolate and the yummy pancake & sausage breakfast made by Susie and Dave.

Our new garden will be called The Holcomb St Garden(Sapphire). It is located at the corner of Georgia St and Holcomb St, across the street from my church Christ Word Outreach Ministries. Our sapphire garden (Georgia St is our Diamond Garden) will be more of a park setting with trees, flowers and benches.
