I want to be as professional as possible. Don’t want to come
off as being bitter. When you have a non-profit organization and it depends on donations
to function we can’t have people or corporations not following through on
pledges.
NO SHOWS on install dates from contractors who are GETTING
PAID to do the work.
Example: I was WXYZ’s
Person Of The Week in July. They asked if I wanted something done right away
what would it be. I said windows on the community center to make it look more
inviting and professional. The same night it aired we got a call asking if we
had anybody willing to donate for the windows. An amount was pledged and also a
company that could do the work. An appointment for measurements was scheduled
and kept. An install date (2 and ½ weeks) was scheduled. NO WINDOWS. After
calls from me to company, another meeting was scheduled. New install date
October 9th 2013. Came and passed NO WINDOWS. Phone calls and emails
have gone unanswered. We had some funds to go towards the windows from other
donors and this information was told to the first donor reducing her pledged
amount. What are Non-Profits to do in a situation like this?
