Georgia Street Orchards new look!!



We cut some old trees down and opened up the orchard to more sun. Thanks to Philip from DetroitLives and The Wayne State Alternative Workforce.

Raised beds have pole beans and bush beans, okra, watermelon, tomatoes, celery, nastursium, peppers, crookneck squash, zucchini, cuccumbers, peas, carrots, broccoli, and brussell sprouts. The picture of the open area is the spot for future raised beds (15).

Reading And Movie Night Begins This Saturday


Our first reading and movie night of the year is set for this Saturday June 6th @ 6:30pm
The first movie will be "Night at the Museum"(1). I am also looking for some suggestions on a few books to read. Preferably some that will take an hour or less to read.

The Georgia Street Community Collective's next event:


Yard Sale/Bake Sale
Saturday, May 16th
10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
9352 Georgia St., Detroit MI 48213
All proceeds will go toward the Building Fund
for the Community Center

Donations of clothing, household goods or other items (Please be sure they are clean and in good condition) are welcomed. They can be dropped off at the address above anytime between now and Friday, May 15th.

Donations of fresh baked goods are also welcomed. These should be dropped off at the same address either Friday the 15th or very early Saturday the 16th. Be sure they are in disposable containers.
